DAVE Plotkin has got more than 3,000 works of art in his online gallery.

Dave, 24, of Stratton, set up Exactlywhatiwant.co.uk in July 2006, after struggling to find a painting of a sunset in conventional galleries.

Dave, who has cerebral palsy, became frustrated trying to get his wheelchair through the doorways and up staircases at galleries.

Now works of art from as far a field as India are being displayed on Dave's site.

By breaking the 3,000 milestone, Dave is well on his way to getting his target of 10,000 pieces of affordable artwork listed on his web page.

"We've started something a bit special here and I'm excited to see it established as the best on the internet," he said.

"It's all about giving the customers as much choice of quality artwork as possible.

"That's what keeps them buying. And our membership rates are crazily good value which keeps the galleries and artists happy."

Dave still personally helps with the scanning and uploading of each picture.

"The other sites like this are all automated and, I think, faceless," he said "Exactlywhatiwant.co.uk is different.

"I'm on the phone up to three hours a day talking to artists and galleries on behalf of our customers. They appreciate the personal touch."

"This is a business, and I'm enjoying all the extra work required to establish it in these early stages.

"But when we get to 10,000 I know we'll be the website of choice for thousands of art buyers throughout the world. I can't wait."

Artists can display their work on the site for just £45 a year.
