Excitement is growing after a pub announced that it would be reopening.
The announcement by Crown Hotel in Royal Wootton Bassett led to excited reactions by former and future customers to leave.
Pub owner, Stonegate, has said that there is no confirmed opening date and the pub has simply stated: “Re-opening soon! Watch this space.”
One former punter said: “Played there back in the day with the mid-life crisis boys, great times.
“Shenanigans at it best! Good news it's coming back.
“Would love to return one day. Good luck.”
A third simply said: “Yipppeeeeeeee.”
Another said of the pub at 131 High Street: “Beautiful pub, can't wait to see what's been done to it.”
Others wondered who the new owner is, and whether the pub well-known for its live music would have bands returning.
The pub is still listed online by estate agent Drake Property which calls the pub ‘a character property’ in the heart of Royal Wootton Bassett.
The building is Grade II listed, with ‘delightful trading area with character features’, a patio and lawn at the rear.
As well as the pub, there are seven rooms for letting and facilities to serve food.
Stonegate have been contacted for more details, and have said it will provide them to the Adver when it is made aware.
